N Absorption, Transport, and Recycling in Nodulated Soybean Plants by Split-Root Experiment Using 15N-Labeled Nitrate

چکیده

Nitrate concentration is variable in soils, so the absorbed N from roots a high-nitrate site recycled shoots to root parts N-poor niche. In this report, absorption, transport, and recycling of derived 15N-labeled nitrate were investigated with split-root systems nodulated soybean. The NO3− accumulated 5 mM solution; however, it was not detected nodules an N-free pot, indicating that itself leaves underground parts. total amount 15NO3− absorption 2 4 days plant opposite half-root accelerated by 40% compared both half-roots received NO3−. This result might be due compensation for demand under one could absorb About 2–3% 15N half-root, irrespective or solution, suggesting affected presence absence Concentrations asparagine increased supplied but half-roots, may systemic signal status.

Impact of 15N-labeled rice straw and rice straw compost application on N mineralization and N uptake by rice

Incorporation of plant residues in soil affects N and C content and dynamics. This studydetermined the effects of short-term alternative rice (Oryza sativa L.) residue management on Nmineralization and uptake by rice. Pot and laboratory incubation experiments were established byincorporating 15N-labeled rice straw and rice straw compost in paddy soil. The 15N recovered by riceaveraged 16.6%; mo...

Soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr. cv Hobbit) plants were grown in a growth chamber for 56 days in a phosphorus- and nitrogen-deficient soil and were colonized by the vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) fungus Glomus mosseae (Nicol. & Gerd) Gerd. and Trappe and Rhizobium japonicum strain USDA 136, or by either organism alone, or by neither. Non-VAM plants received supplemental phosphorus and no...

Ion balance, uptake, and transport processes in n(2)-fixing and nitrate- and urea-dependent soybean plants.

The objective of this study was to examine the influence of N(2) fixation and NO(3) (-)-N and urea-N assimilation on ion balance, uptake, and transport processes in soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.).Inoculated plants were grown in Perlite supplied daily with nutrient solutions which contained zero-N, 10 and 20 millimolar NO(3) (-)-N, and 10 and 20 millimolar urea-N, and they were sampled 41, 76, a...

Nodulated soybean enhances rhizosphere priming effects on soil organic matter decomposition more than non-nodulated soybean

The phenomenon that rhizosphere processes significantly control soil organic matter (SOM) decomposition, also termed rhizosphere priming effect (RPE), is now increasingly recognized as significant as the effects of soil temperature and moisture on SOM decomposition. However, the exact mechanisms responsible for RPE remain largely unknown. Particularly, some reports have suggested that the quali...

Aerenchyma formation and recovery from hypoxia of the flooded root system of nodulated soybean.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Flooding results in hypoxia of the root system to which N2 fixation of nodulated roots can be especially sensitive. Morphological adaptions, such as aerenchyma formation, can facilitate the diffusion of oxygen to the hypoxic tissues. Using soybean, the aim of the study was to characterize the morphological response of the nodulated root system to flooding and obtain evidence...
